Business Management and Image

Experts on home based business opportunity management report a direct relationship between certain business management practices and income produced. These practices include having a highly serious attitude about the business; maintaining a well-equipped office; using the yellow pages for advertising; using professionals for advice; securing a business bank account; incorporating the business; operating within all local, state and federal laws and regulations; making sure the telephone is answered during business hours; hiring employees; belonging to professional associations, and using delivery services. Other practices that are important to a good business image are being well groomed and appropriately dressed; having an orderly and clean workplace; posting your business hours and following the schedule; having good quality printed materials; maintaining good customer service, and using good manners at all times.
Customer Relations. Good customer relations are essential for any business. Money spent on advertising and promotion could be wasted if the customer is not treated appropriately. Business people and their employees should deal with customers in a manner that neither offends them nor allows them to take advantage of you or your business.
Establish business policies on dealing with customers before you open for business opportunity. Try to anticipate problems, objections, or special situations that may occur and determine how you want to deal with them. Try role playing possible situations that employees of your business may encounter.
Strive to convince customers that you are genuinely interested. Providing a good product or service reinforces this. Work that fails to satisfy you or the customer is a poor advertisement for your business. According to consumer surveys, a person who has had an unpleasant experience with a business will tell on average 9 to 10 other people. Some may tell as many as 20 people or more.
Solving complaints promptly may not only bring customers back, but they will have something positive to talk about. Customers who have had a good experience with a business will tell an average of five other people, some of whom may become new customers.
Business cards. A professionally printed card is an asset to almost any business. Include your name, address, phone number, products or services you provide and an attractive logo if you have one. Cards done on personal computer are appropriate if attractive and look professional.
Letterhead and envelopes. Printed letterhead shows your customers that you are a professional business person. You may want to announce your business by mailing notices to prospective customers. Letterhead stationery may also be necessary when purchasing materials and equipment for your business. Many wholesale outlets will not sell to you without it.
Business phone line. The business phone should have a separate line and be answered promptly during business hours by a person or answering device.

3 Benefits Of Continous Learning

3 Benefits Of Continous Learning

We are always taking in new information but the question is WHAT are we learning? As human beings we are always growing, but we need to ask ourselves “in what direction”? Are we choosing the direction that we want to go?
Many people are committed to their “stories” which really are excuses for not taking action. They live their life by them. I used to be one of the people committed to my stories/excuses. Believe me, it was learned behavior. I learned it from many different sources such as family, school, friends and work environments. For example, because of the influence of others at work, I always believed that it was best for me to stay home 4 work nights each week and only be out late on a work night once a week. As a result there are many things I have not done because of that limiting belief that it was “not good for me to go out too many times during the week”. One of the things I missed out on was learning Spanish, something I have wanted to do for years.
So why is it that we should be making conscious choices about which information we take in so that we are Continuously Learning?
3 Benefits of Continuous Learning:
1) Protect your future for you and your family…
We can protect ourselves by learning new skills. With these new skills we can protect ourselves from being laid off or downsized. For example, if you were to go to school once a week and learn something that makes you a more valuable commodity in the marketplace or learned a new skill in a different arena, you could be prepared for downsizing or layoff when it happens. We know in this changing world that there is no escape from change, it surrounds us daily and the pace of change is accelerating.
Are you sitting around waiting for change or are you directing the change that happens to you? We know that we do not get a promotion without a test. Have you ever applied for a job that you really wanted? Did you study, do research on the company and their visions and goals. Prepare yourself for that interview/test? If you really wanted the job, then I am sure you did. Learning something new, preparing for that business opportunity protects us and allows us to get out of our “comfort zone”. Nothing ever happens in the comfort zone, we stay right where we are, even though the world is changing around us. Do you want to get left behind?
2) Learning can change your life
I have just completed a learning event with Live Out Loud and Loral Langemeier in Lake Tahoe. Believe me, it was a stretch and really assisted me in getting outside of my comfort zone. My life has changed for the better because of that experience and I am preparing myself for the future!
The events that have happened in my life where I have had to get out of my comfort zone have all in some way, big or small, improved my life. There are still times where I want to wallow in my comfort zone. However, now I know the perils of staying there, so I do not stay there very long.
When I first started on my journey of building my home business, our dream was to be able to sponsor 10 children with “The Plan”. As we have learned and grown through the process our focus is now to sponsor 100 children. The learning has changed our attitude about life and money, which of course has resulted in changing our lives. The focus of our life has changed for the better.
3) Learning can keep you young
Learning assists us in adapting to change. Think of a time when you dreaded having to learn something new. Why were you dreading it? Was it because you are not in the habit of learning? Did you believe it would be too hard? Did you not see any benefit for the learning? Getting back into the habit of learning is just like starting out on a bicycle, it takes a lot more effort to get going than it does once you have attained the desired speed. When we are learning we are involved with life, we are out with our peers or a whole new group of people.
What are new information are you feeding yourself? I realized that the fiction books I was feeding myself were simply a form of escape. Very similar to the young boy we met on the streets of Le Ciba in Honduras. He was one of the kids who were abandoned to the streets as young as the age of two. What he did to escape the reality of his own life was to sniff gasoline. After meeting him I realized that I was doing the same thing by reading too many fiction books.
After that I started feeding myself with more positive material. If this is one of your escape mechanisms and you desire to change it, you may want to switch the type of books that you read. Biographies are a great way to switch from fiction because they are stories too.
Once we have begun to change our learning habits by making conscious decisions about the information we feed ourselves on, the next step is to teach what we have learned. Teaching others is the best way to learn it even better. One of my great desires is for my family and friends to learn how not to get left behind. That is the reason I choose to write these articles, because assisting you in your learning also assists me in understanding better myself.
I thank you very much for reading this article and welcome comments. Please send me an email, I would love to hear your stories about how learning has affected your life.
The next step is to teach what we have learned. Teaching others is the best way to learn it even better. One of my great desires is for my family and friends to learn how not to get left behind. That is the reason I choose to write these articles, because assisting you in your learning also assists me in understanding better myself.

Wheeling petit pas: Parkinsonism detected by observation of wheelchair propulsion.

We present a man with parkinsonism detected by the observation of medical scooters propulsion. His manual handicap scooters propulsion technique was observed to include rapid, brief, low-power strokes resembling the marche petit pas (walking with tiny steps) phenomenon of parkinsonism. We videotaped his wheelchair propulsion and compared him with ten age-, gender-, and diagnosis-matched controls. The patient had a propulsion velocity of 0.14 m/sec compared with a mean (+/- standard deviation) of 0.73 (+/- 0.16) m/sec for the controls, a cadence of 209 strokes/min vs. 60 (+/- 12) strokes/min for the controls, and a mechanical efficiency of 0.04 m/stroke compared with 0.75 (+/- 0.25) m/stroke for the controls. This observation shifted the course of his medical investigations and management as well as his rehabilitation care. This is the first detailed report of how parkinsonian features may affect manual wheelchair propulsion. It suggests that observation of wheelchair mobility should be a routine component of the physical examination of wheelchair users.

Can an MLM Funded Proposal Help my Business?

Can an MLM Funded Proposal Help my Business?

The last years the new trend in network marketing, especially for those working online, is what is called a funded proposal. The process of generating leads that you can try to convert them to distributors in your MLM opportunity by selling them usually an infoproduct in the front-end. That method can be very useful for those that don’t have the financial resources to advertise directly themselves and their multi-level marketing business for a long period of time.
But let’s see in more detail how exactly it works.
As we said, everything starts with the front-end product that is usually an info-product like an ebook, sometimes it can also be a tangible product, but such cases are rare as it’s not cost-efficient. What you are doing is you are trying to sell this product for a designated price. When someone buys it he becomes a lead and you follow up with him through an autoresponder with a preloaded series of emails trying to convince him to become a member to your network marketing opportunity. The business opportunity that you are trying to sell to him is called the back-end product.
The exciting part of this method is the selling of the front-end product, in essence you get paid to generate your own leads. Of course, you have to subtract the advertising costs in order to find your real profit, if any. If you sell for example a training course for $35 and the customer acquisition cost is $25 you make a profit of $10 for every lead you generate.
That concept is very powerful if you consider that most people that advertise directly their MLM company, they are losing money in the first months, or even years until their downline grows big enough so their commissions can match up their advertising expenses. With a funded proposal you solve the cash-flow problems of your home based business right from the very beginning getting in profit literally from your first sale.
Another advantage is the quality of the leads you generate. First, you know where they come from since you generate them on your very own. Second, they already have spent money for buying your course so they are serious prospects and not freebie seekers. And third, they qualified themselves that they are genuinely interested in network marketing by purchasing your relevant product.
As good as it sounds the funded proposal by now, it gets even better. There are ready made solutions with an information product that you can sell, an autoresponder loaded with pre-written emails in order to convert your customers to distributors in your multilevel marketing opportunity, as well as training on how to market and build your home business.
That way you won’t have to set up the whole system by yourself which requires a lot of knowledge and skills in order to function properly and be efficient in terms of converting traffic to customers and leads to distributors. Someone else has already done the hard work for you.
From what we have seen above an MLM funded proposal is a powerful tool for every network marketer, especially if he doesn’t have the necessary cash to sustain direct advertising of his business opportunity for a long period of time that can usually last for many months before he gets to profits. Whether you set up your own system, or join a ready one, using that method is something that you should consider.

The biomechanics of wheelchair propulsion in individuals with and without upper-limb impairment.

Filed under: Gallery, Other, Web Design — Admin @ 7:41 pm

The biomechanics of wheelchair propulsion in individuals with and without upper-limb impairment.

We used an instrumented medicare power wheelchairs ergometer and 3D motion analysis system to collect joint kinematic and temporal data, as well as hand rim and joint kinetics, in 47 manual power wheelchairs users (MWCUs) (15 with upper-limb impairment and 32 without upper-limb impairment). The group with upper-limb impairment propelled with a higher stroke frequency and reduced hand-rim contact time, and smaller peak joint angles and joint excursion of the wrist, elbow, and shoulder during the contact phase. They also propelled with a reduced power output and reduced hand-rim propulsive and resultant forces, moments, and joint compressive forces. We concluded that these kinematic and kinetic strategies might be a mechanism for allowing MWCUs with upper-limb impairment to remain independent. Additionally, the reduced joint excursion and reduced magnitude of forces may protect them from the development of secondary upper-limb pathologies.

Spotting Opportunities Among Scams

There are many other enterprises that are operated out of a home. As you consider a home business opportunity beware of scams. As technology expands and because of the growing interest in the home-based business community, a large number of individuals and companies have organized to meet the needs of budding entrepreneurs. Many of these companies, however, are more interested in selling a worthless business opportunity idea to someone instead of helping them develop a real small business opportunity. So check it out! The old adage “if it seems to good to be true, it probably is” holds true. See (Appendix B) “Opportunities Questionnaire.” Evaluate all ads carefully, and if you suspect it’s a scam notify the Attorney General’s Office before investing in a business opportunity.
You must thoroughly evaluate the potential for the business you plan to operate. Obtaining good advice can help prevent you from making expensive mistakes which often lead to failure.

Results of 166 tests revealed a wide scatter of battery life with different users and also showed that, in many cases, the two batteries used in a wheelchair became unequal in charge capacity after some time in use. It is recommended that pairs of batteries should be charged in series to overcome this problem.

Marketing your Home Business for Big Profits

Marketing your Home Business for Big Profits

Marketing your home business for big profits takes some due diligence and the right resources.
In 1999 I started a business opportunity, and I submitted my website to every search engine that would take it from here to the North Pole.
I submitted classified ads; I had more links on my website, than Carter has pills.
I bought the submission software.s, the top ads on classified ad sites, the linking programs and so on.
I had about $500 to spend on this venture and I spent it all on marketing.
Yes I got a few hits, and some replies. But after a year of not really getting off the ground, I closed down shop and stuck my tail between my legs and just took the loss and figured this home business stuff was not to done.
Jan 2004 I wanted to try this home business venture again, only this time I was going to some research on home business and how people succeed in it.
I read news articles on the internet, went into forums to see what others were doing, and so on. Found out quickly everyone has an opinion on what works and what doesn.t.
Well I did learn quite a bit, like on my first venture I was linking to every website that would take my link. I found out, it is not the amount of links; it is the quality of websites you link to.
That was one mistake. Found out also that these submission software.s and programs are not all that great either.
After about 6 months of research and reading, I reopened a new home business in July 2004. I applied what I had learned to this business.
To my surprise after about 2 weeks I started getting some affiliates, had a couple sales, and things were off and running.
A little over a month went buy and I was continuing to make progress, and then I stumbled on to what I consider is one of the best business tools out there.
It was an organization that had all the proven tools, resources, experts, materials, books you name it on how to get make big profits on your home business.
Well I signed up, and for once that was the best money I spent, a low monthly fee for all of their resources. Well let.s just say, that in 1 month my profits doubled.
The next month they doubled again! This entire buy just having the right resources and tools at my disposal, is what made the difference in 2004, compared to my flop in 1999.
I turn 45 years old in 2005, and have planned on retiring from my full time job in the aerospace industry. My home business as gotten so big and so profitable that I know longer need my other job.
You know what J.O.B. stands for (Just over Broke). Well I know longer need to worry about that, now that I have the financial freedom to support my family for years to com
